Minnesota Artists Release #MeTooMpls Compilation Album

On Oct. two, a group of seventeen Minnesota songwriters will launch #MeTooMpls, a compilation album featuring songs encouraged by the #MeToo motion. 

#MeTooMpls is a Females/Femmes/Trans/Non-Binary People songwriting collective that was started in 2019 to uplift women’s voices, support sexual assault survivors, and raising revenue for Prepared Parenthood.

The undertaking kicked off nearly final week with a livestream fundraising live performance hosted by Andrea Swensson of The Latest, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to Prepared Parenthood.

Around a dozen Minneapolis artists are showcased on the album, sharing songs “ranging from heartbreaking songs about surviving sexual assault to inspiring songs about feminist icons and their affect on their lives.”

Album curator Mischa Sueming began gathering artists in late 2019, and the moment artist Annie Fitzgerald heard his reasoning guiding earning the album, she did not be reluctant to contribute.
