The Philippine Tropical Materials Month, remaining celebrated in January led the Philippine Textile Investigate Institute of the Division of Science and Engineering (DOST-PTRI), aims to increase awareness about the use of organic fibres like pineapple, banana, abaca and the Philippines silk for textile and allied products and solutions. The 54th founding anniversary of the institute will be celebrated on January 30.

This year’s concept is ‘Fashioning Philippine Textiles in the Now Regular and in the Year of the Imaginative Economy’.

Malacanang Proclamation 313 declared January every yr as the Philippine Tropical Materials (PTF) month to advertise Filipino textile products and solutions that are indigenous to the Philippines.
